Pastoral Support and Well-being

We know that for children to learn effectively they need to be happy and settled. Sometimes there are reasons for this not being the case. Our inclusion team provides a range of services and support for children and families that go beyond academic needs.

If you have any worries or concerns about your child, please let us know and we will do our best to help you. If you think we need to be aware of something at home that may have an impact on your child’s well-being, please let us know in confidence.

Our team comprises of:

Mrs Goy - Inclusion Lead

Mrs Groves – SENCO

Mrs Westlake - Learning Mentor (based in the junior school)

Mrs Baker - Inclusion HLTA (based in the infant school)

Our in-school offer is often delivered on a one-to-one basis with child or parent as well as in workshops such as those via the SEND forum.

We can support with a variety of situations for parents such as:

  • Sleep training advice and plans

  • Home difficulties with behaviour

  • Concerns about emerging SEND

  • Parenting

For children within school, we can help with:

  • Friendship difficulties

  • Self-confidence

  • Resilience

  • SEMH - social, emotional and mental health

  • Support during challenging times within the family

  • Bereavement

We can be contacted via the school office or your class teacher and we can often be found at the school gates.

If we do not have the necessary expertise, we will aim to signpost you to a suitable professional service or make an appropriate referral.

We have worked with various agencies and professionals to provide support beyond school, such as Supporting Families, CAMHS, School Nurse.
